AMDOCS EXAM PAPER / INTERVIEW PATTERN

Test Date  : 14 Jul 2008 , Test Location   : TSEC,MUMBAI

 Experieance of a candidate -
110 students sat for the aptitude test out of which 20 where sortlisted and finally 10 were selected.i was one of them after getting rejected in Infosys and Accenture.

The recruitment process consists of the following rounds:

1) Aptitude test (General + Technical)
2) Technical Interview
3) HR Interview

APTITUDE TEST

The duration of the test is approximately 110 min. It was an online test . There were a total of 95 questions to attempt.

There is 60% sectional cut-off for both sections.that is what i heard but i dont think that they follow it strictly as i wont hv got 60%.it depends on the performance of ur batch.
every right ans has +1mark and wrong ans has  -0.25 marks.so be careful if u dont know leave the question.

test paper has many sets.

The aptitude test comprises mainly of two sections:
1) General Aptitude Test-contains 3 subsection
2) Technical Test-contains 3 subsection

General Aptitude test
The general aptitude test consisted of the following sub-sections:
1) quantitative ability 20 ques(25 min)-toughest part of the test as time is very less.questions were not so easy.i was able to do only 11 ques.trick(when u press submit time stops and ask for confirmation if u press cancel u will be brought back to question page)try this at ur own risk as they might rectify this fault.
3 ques on set theory(venn diagram) not so easy prepare set theory thourougly from R.S Agarwal.
2 ques on clock-damn easy took 1 min to get the ans.
next 5 ques was very easy.-no prep required
5 ques were like $ represents 1 and 0 represents * then 4 is represented as $**.some common airthmetic were given u hv to calculate result and just have to convert the no in binary.time consuming.
i forgot other ques but they where not so easy u hv to prepare R.S Aggarwal thouroughly.

2)comprehension(15 min)-damn easy.my passage was on connecting computer.i even dont hv to read the passage as i know 8 ans out of 10.it took me 7 min in total to find remaining 2 ans and crosscheck my ans with the passage.
3)15 easy questions(15 min) on substitution ques like + is *,* is -etc,pattern matching, reasoning.it will take no more than 12 min.

Technical Test
The technical test includes three sub-sections:

- SQL (15 min)
- UNIX (15 min)
- Language (15 min) (Here you can choose between C, C++ or Java)
I chose C for the language test.

1)C ques were very easy if u know even a little bit of c u will be able to do 15-16 ques. 20ques(25 min)-ample time.
a)int a=10;
b=a++ + ++a;
print(b);
ans-22
b)what is the function used to read n write a specified no of line from file?

ADP WALK-IN (Consistent 70% is the cutoff) on 18th JUNE-2006. The reporting time is 10am. I reached the center by 9:50am .But there are already 3000+ aspirants. So my advice is to reach center (especially in case of Wilkins) 1-2hrs prior.

-->1st round they adopted to filter out such huge number of students is : English Fluency test in which HR's will asks you some questions like- Introduce ur self, What’s ur project is all about, Whats ur role in that project, Stengths&Weeknesses......etc In this round they selected 800 exactly out of those 4000+ .
-->All these 800 are sent to written test rooms ( 8rooms each of 100 seating). Written test is for 1:30 mints which comprises of
     1)QUANTITATIVE(Arithmetic...mainly from RS.AGARWAL),
2)VERBAL(corect use of grammar, GRE words..etc),
3)Simple C programs and theory questions on C (for eg: Whats the specific use of EXTERN INT in C )
4)Lengthy C Programmes (You need a serious preparation to attempt this section, that much tough are those programs)
In this round they selected only 150-200 students out of those 800.
--> third round I faced was HR. In this HR will asks some questions about ur family background, and some metal testing questions like : "What will you do if ur higher authority person would do SEX HARASSMENT with ur one of the colleague? " And they will mainly sees the discipline, obediance ...etc.
--> Finally 100 people are send for final interview (TR+HR). It is mainly Technical Round only where in which you are going to face questions like :
1)How do you define CONSTANT in C?
         2)Define VARIABLE?
3)Function calling procedures? and their differences? Why should one go for Call by Refrnce?
         4)Difference btwn STRUCTURE and UNION?
         5) Whats the specail use of UNIONS?
6)What is a pointer? What is meant by recursion?
7)Can you write a programme for FACTORIAL using recursion?
8)What is LINKED LIST? How can you access the last element in a linked list?
You need a thorough preparation to get through this round ,becaz their requirement is 3-5. Thats all.  SO you shouldbe outstanding to deserve that job. I failed to get through this round, just becaz of FOOTBALL match on previous night. Otherwise I might've revised all these C concepts. So my advice is CAREER first all are secondary.
Hope I provided useful information to you. The reason to give this matter to you all is : Fron 15th to 17th(one day before to commencement of that walkin) . Ok naa...All the best for ur career.

Eighty Five children went to amusement park where they could ride on merry “go-round roller coaster and Ferris wheel .It was known that 20 of them have took all three rides and 55 of them have taken at least two of the three rides. Each ride cost Rs.1 and the total receipt of the amusement park was Rs.145.
1) How many children did not try any of the rides. ?
A) 5 B) 10 C) 15 D) 20
Ans. 15.
20 kids * 3 rides = Rs. 60
(55-20=)35 kids * 2 rides = Rs. 70
60 + 70 = Rs. 130
So, Rs. (145 – 130 = ) 15 are left for the other (85 – 55 = ) 30 kids . so only 15 of them can take a ride and rest 15 will be left out.
145 rides were taken. 20 of them took all three, i.e. Rs. 60 were spent, so 145-60= Rs. 85 are left for the others. Total kids were 85, so rest were 65. out of these 65,

C) 16
D) 20
Ans 12.
Consider the top city, the following are the 3 routes possible, starting from the leftmost edge. Since there are 3 edges emanating from each city and the figure is perfectly symmetrical, these 3 routes are possible from each edge, hence for any given city, the total number of routes = 4 * 3 = 12.
